Leasing and Board

FULL BOARD INCLUDES:

  • Stalls vary in size but are for the most part open air with barred upper panels rather than solid wood used as dividers so that the horses can socialize.

  • Quality hay and Purina based grain twice daily—main grain fed in the evenings when supplements and medications that their owners provide can be added.

  • Waterers are routinely cleaned.

  • All horses are to receive their boosters with West Nile protection on or around Valentine’s Day (because we love them).

  • Records for all horses must be kept on file.

  • Boarders are permitted use of other amenities including wash stall with hot and cold water, heated powder roomand shower/changing room, well maintained indoor and outdoor riding rings with jumps and trails both on and off the farm.

  • Children must be supervised when jumping.

  • ALL RIDERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR HELMENT WHEN JUMPING

  • NEW BOARDER APPLICATION

TACKROOM:

  • Each horse has its own bridle mount and saddle rack

  • Owners have a large cubby in the shared tackroom

  • 4-H and lease owners have a small cubby in the saddle room to hold grooming kits, helmets, boots, or chaps

LEASES:  

Horses and ponies including 4-H mounts can be leased for the season beginning in September/October if their riders are consistently taking lessons. 

OUTSIDE SERVICES:

Farrier:
Any farrier may be used, however the barn farrier comes the first Tuesday of the month and is here all day.  Charges as of September 2012 (Guy Robinson1-503-910-3837):

  • Trims $45

  • Full Set of shoes  $90 or $80 if the current set of shoes are to be reused

  • Half-set of shoes $45 or $40 again if current shoes are re-used.

  • Drilled or specially built, padded or leather leveled shoes start at $20, but may be more depending on what is required.

VETERINARIAN:

Banks Vet, Peak Performance Equine, PLCC, and Alexander Equine, and are our primary vets however you may call in whomever you want. Someone is always on the property and can hold your horse for a small fee if you cannot make it for the appointment.

An Emergency release, including your specification as to which vet you would like us to use with the maximum you are willing to spend in an emergency, is included in the application packet.
